A different towin' skimboarding season near to open, Gravitis will represent to contests in Italy, and demos in France, Poland, Sweden, Israel. The new standard 20 and 26 feet elastic cables are to improve the sport in dedicated events, because of their - new single-cable non -friction type - to individual practice, instead of three cables braided together which need 2 companions to streach and launch: it's the radical improvement.

Background

• 2005 - Canadian 'pro riversurfers' used bungees directly linked to the nose of the foam skimboard, for fast most straight runs only.
• 2006 - Demos took place at German ISPO Winter 2005/06, but these were Tow-in contests using motor snowels to tow snowboarders on a flat snowpark.

Bungee boarding

• 2006 - Italian patent at Broox (named tow.:er), of the handle & bungee separated from the board, year of birth for the sport.
• 2007 - During year 2007 Italian Tower brand attended the French Eurosima Environmental Contest, and the German ISPO BrandNew Award.
• 2008 - Canadian BansheeRiverboards re-entered ISPO BrandNew Award with the concept of bungee+handle. The French Elasticboarding.com site showed up with similar safety scheme of parallel cables linked together; further ones from Switzerland, and from Austria.
• 2009 - Board bungees become popular as recreational sport worldwide, most common measure is 20ft (6m), but it needs the help of companions to help the rider streach.
• 2010 - tow-er.com domain and its stuff encorporated by Gravitis to release the powerful single cable device committed to individual streach/contests and the 26ft (8m) measure to allow skimboarders with solo edges and manouvers..

Gravitis Italian Pro Teamriders will show the attended 3 plys bamboo flatland skimboard with mellow pop, transparent grip and special pads.
Below a ph/video gallery of past Freeride Tour of Tower Staff (Broox) using the old thin cables in contests, but up to 3 ones together. This model, with co-axial safety knot of the patent is reliable for youths, but will be replaced definetely with the big ones with rigid handle and stainless steel lock.
